Buntings
A pleasant surprise was a good number of these buntings, the north on North Uist is covered in what is called Machair a wild flower meadow that is harvested late in the summer for animal feed. This allows birds such as terns, skylarks, oystercatchers, pipits, buntings and plovers to have a fantastic nesting and / or feeding area
